Other things to note

An ideal camping itinerary for Maui:

Drive the road to Hana (2.5-3 hour drive from airport) which is beautiful and would suggest camping there for 2-3 nights. Camp one night in Wainapanapa in Hana (need permits in advance) and camp at Kipahulu campground. There are numerous waterfalls (seven sacred pools and the bamboo forest) and hikes in Hana and beautiful red sand and black sand beaches to explore.

On your way back from Hana, camp one night at Hosmer Grove near Haleakala to see the beautiful sunset/sunrise at the high elevation. It is chilly up there so bring warm clothes but definitely worth the view.

After Hosmer Grove, head to Lahaina and camp at Papalua Wayside which you can pull the Jeep directly onto the beach for ocean view camping and snorkeling.

There are other good spots for snorkeling in Lahaina at Black Rock in front of the Sheraton Hotel and Honolua Bay.

In Wailea, there is a beautiful beach called Makena Beach and there is a hiking trail to check out called La Perouse.

Price: $ 130.00
